Cuba Foundation

Welcome to The Cuba Foundation

The Cuba Foundation is a philanthropic platform that connects donors, experts, and volunteers with development projects that are legal and ethical, directly benefiting the Cuban people. We do this by mobilizing financial, intellectual, and human resources to advance purposeful, impactful, and sustainable activities, with a special focus on the private sector.

2026 marks out 5th Anniversary!

To celebrate, the graphic artist who developed our logo designed these two posters – in English and Spanish.

You can download a free PDF file of either version (in the menu at the top, choose your preferred language icon) by providing us with your information.

But, if you feel the need and are able to make a contribution, we recommend making a donation of $25 using our donation portal and writing “poster” in the comment section.

    Our Work

Our work supports Cuba’s emerging private sector because we believe that mixed economies — those that combine the essential work of a state sector with a responsive and resilient private sector — are best positioned to generate long-term, sustainable economic growth that also supports critical social services, such as healthcare, education, and retirement benefits.

    Development Organization

We are a development organization — not a political or ideological group — that derives its funding primarily from private sector donors and other like-minded philanthropies and non-governmental organizations. To maintain our independence and objectivity, and to comply with legal requirements, we strictly limit funding from official United States or Cuban sources. Together with our advisers, we have many years of combined business, financial, economic and social development expertise that inform our vision, programming and the management of our resources.

Our projects are concentrated in five discrete but sometimes overlapping areas:

    Entrepreneurship and Innovation

    02-CUBA-FOUNDATION-_-White-20

    Natural Patrimony

    Cultural Heritage

    Sports

    Academic Exchanges

Collectively, these areas embrace a diversified portfolio approach to our programming, thus enhancing the probability of our overall success and impact, and because development is linked to a wide variety of social and economic activities. Our projects are designed to meet development objectives with measurable results and must include a strong private sector component.

    Our Logo

Our logo was inspired by the mariposa blanca, chosen as Cuba’s national flower in 1936 due to its elegance, fragrance and its use by Cuba’s independence fighters to hide sensitive messages during Cuba’s War of Independence. It was designed by Victor Manuel Cabrera Muñiz, one of Cuba’s leading independent graphic artists, known for his works promoting Havana’s vibrant art scene. His concept captures the essence of our vision: rooted in tradition but focused on the future. Our logo has been granted registered trademarks in both the US and Cuba.
